TOTIO, THETPN-PBNEWS.COM- Today, Tuesday (10/05/2022) the Indonesian police acted anarchically by firing a number of firearms during the peaceful demonstration of the people of West Papua in Jayapura (Port Numbay), West Papua.
The people of West Papua took to the streets peacefully to declare their rejection of Special Autonomy (Otsus) and the expansion of the New Autonomous Region (DOB) in West Papua, but the Indonesian Police forcibly disbanded them.
It was reported that some of the peaceful demonstrators had been shot by the Indonesian police and were in critical condition.
We call on the whole world, especially the European Union (EU) and the funding countries (donors) of Special Autonomy to immediately stop funding, and support the Right of Self-Determination for West Papua.
This is the real face of Indonesian democracy. The High Commissioner of the UN Human Rights Council (UN High Commissioner) immediately visited West Papua to witness firsthand according to the urging of more than 100 UN member states".(*)
